What is EDVO?
EDVO is a Meal with a combination of various items from the regular menu given with a discount. Any consumer can make customized meals by choosing multiple items on different groups where groups are a virtual grouping of items.
On Zomato, these Meals can be configured with a different UI flow. Here's how it looks.
How to configure a meal with the EDVO UI flow on Zomato?
As mentioned earlier, an EDVO consists of a Meal and virtual grouping of items that can be created using Combos(As Meals) and Combo Groups(As a virtual group of items)
Creating Combo Group:
To create a Combo Group, go to Ordering → Combo Groups. Click on Add Combo Groups.
In the New Combo Group page, follow the pointers below:
- Title: Enter the name of the Combo. (Ex: 2 Medium Pizza @Rs.199 each)
- Description: Enter the description of the Combo.
- Merchant Ref. Id: you can configure it as '-1'.
- Min Options Selectable: The minimum number of Items a user should be able to select for the particular Combo group.
- Max Options Selectable: The maximum number of items a user should be able to select for the particular Combo group.
- Discount Value: This is the discount given on the price of each item that is a part of the Combo Group. The selling price for the selected item will be item price - Discount Value. The Discount Value has to be higher than Zero.
- Sort Order: You can specify the number that will decide the sequence of the Combo Group. Depending on the sequence you add, the Combo Group will be visible in the order on the aggregator UI (Ex: 0,1,2..n). "0" will be given the highest priority and the Combo Group will appear on the top while the Combo Group with sort order "n" will appear at the bottom.
- Combo Group Image: Upload the required image to Combo Group.
- Item Association: The required items can be associated with the Combo Group by selecting the items and clicking on ">" or ">>" to associate all the items to the store and click on Save.

How to configure a meal with the EDVO UI flow on Swiggy?
The EDVO construct can only be configured from Swiggy's end. However, for an EDVO order to flow into UrbanPiper, the construct of the deal will have to be configured and the meal ID will have to be shared with Swiggy for each deal that is configured(similar to Swiggy POP).
The configuration of the construct is similar to Zomato where the items are associated with Combos and the Combos are associated with the Combo Groups.
Once the construct is configured, Combo ID(identified from the URL) has to be shared with Swiggy as the meal ID which is configured in their system.
